Acting Principal's Report

I acknowledge the First Peoples of our nation and the traditional custodians of the land on which our beautiful school stands, The Wathaurong people. I pay my respects to the Wathaurong people and acknowledge their contribution and care of the land and waters on which our school community works and lives. I pay my respects to their Elders past, present and emerging, and acknowledge and thank all First Nations people within the Miners Rest School Community.

Your attendance is important to us!

At 5:30pm this evening, in Kim barne Nitji (gymnasium), a "Parent Open Forum" regarding the future of our camping program is being held.

This Forum is targeted at our whole school community, as it will shape the future of our entire Year 2 to 6 Camping Program for the long term future.

We strongly encourage each and every family to have representation tonight to hear crucial information that may impact on the camping program at our school from 2023 onwards. Tonight's forum can only be validated by a majority of our school community attending - that is, a quorum will be considered a minimum of 120 registered families.

Key information and options will be shared, before feedback opportunities are offered.

Principal class will inform the school community of our maintained / new school camping program within a fortnight of the forum.

Our school councillors have already provided key insights into reflecting their views and now it's our communities turn.

Our decision needs your input and tonight is the opportunity to have an informed voice.

We hope to see as many families there as possible.

Walk-a-thon & Fete

The sun will be shining and we are looking forward to having lots of family participation this Friday as we enjoy our walk-a-thon and our fete. The students and staff are thoroughly looking forward to both of these special events and have been working really hard behind the scenes in preparation for what will be an enjoyable day for all involved. We hope to see lots of families enjoying the day with us!

Transition Morning

A very successful morning was enjoyed by all of our enrolled children for Foundation 2023 on Tuesday morning. The children settled into the classroom environments successfully and parents were able to attend an information session particularly related to... what Teaching & Learning and Inclusion & Engagement looks like at Miners Rest Primary School. Our next transition event is National Transition Day on December 13, where all students from Foundation to Year Six will be involved.
