School and Kindergarten Parents and Friends Association Meeting – Thursday 8th December, 9am
The next PFA meeting will be a General Meeting combined with Christmas Raffle wrapping which will be held on Thursday 8th December at 9am in the Davey Building Conference Room (school administration building). This is a great opportunity to meet new parents, staff and a place where you can share your ideas for fundraising and how you would like to see the money raised to be spent on your children. All parents are encouraged to attend and toddlers are welcome.
Christmas Raffle - Wednesday 14th December
Our Christmas Raffle is always a huge success with fantastic prizes donated from our community. Prizes usually include but are not limited to toys, homewares, stationary, vouchers, movie passes, books and Christmas decorations. We are now asking families to please donate an item towards the Christmas Raffle. Please bring your donations into the office right up until the 7th December.
Raffle tickets have been sent home today. Please return all raffle tickets and money to the school administration office by Friday 9th December. The raffle is drawn during the end of year Presentation Night on Wednesday 14th December.
***We need your help*** Ballarat Carols SpringFest Market - Sunday 18th December
SpringFest has been thrown a lifeline and will be running a Sunday Market alongside the Ballarat Carols on Sunday 18th December. As a beneficiary, Miners Rest K-6 need to provide a total of 10 volunteers.
To keep things nice and simple, there will be 4 shifts:
10am-2pm (1 volunteer)
10.30am to 2.00pm (4 volunteers)
2.00pm to 6.00pm (3 volunteers)
6.00pm to 9.00pm (3 volunteers)
The duties required from the volunteers include helping stall holders find their space, keeping the areas tidy, answering any questions from the public, ensuring stall holders leave their space in a clean state.
Please let me the office know if you are available to help out and at which time slot.

WIN An Aboriginal Painting by local artist Deidre Burgoyne Rosier Here is your chance to own an original art piece by Deidre. Deidre's love of painting started after a visit to her sister in SA, when she was handed a canvas and paints and her sister said “here sis, your turn now”, since then Deidre hasn't stopped painting. A proud Wirangu, Kothotha and Mirning woman from West Coast of South Australia, Deidre now calls Ballarat home. Artwork is 55cm x 72cm, stretched ready to hang.

Second-hand Uniform Shop
The second-hand uniform shop is located in the library, Brady Building and is open weekly for you to purchase uniform items for a gold coin donation. The PFA also accept donations of clean, good quality uniform items.

Cookbooks – Grow, Harvest, Prepare, Share - $5 per book
The Parents and Friends Association have produced this beautiful, full colour cookbook printed on luxurious high quality paper. This fantastic book is sure to last a lifetime, making it a great memento from our school, kindergarten and community of Miners Rest. All recipes featured in the book have been tried and tested. The cook book will be selling for $5.
Student Display Folders
Through the PFA, we also have Student Display Folders for sale for $15 each. These are great for storing your child's reports, achievement certificates etc. Both the Display Folders and Cookbooks are available from the School General Office.
School Lunches – Monday and Thursday through Quickcliq.com.au
Lunches need to be ordered online through the website www.quickcliq.com.au. Please note: sauce is provided in each classroom, and you cannot specify which colour donut. Some days, not all items are available or sell out quickly. We recommend to try and order as early as possible, with orders closing at 8.15am on the day of delivery. Please update your child’s profile to reflect the correct teacher and room (this saves a lot of time when the caterers are distributing the lunches into the classroom containers).
