We have a few exciting weeks left before this year is finished. Each week is packed with different activities that the students will be participating in.

Exam week - Week 8

By now, you would all be aware that Week 8 is exam week. The students have worked hard throughout this semester with their classwork and assessments. The exam is the final assessment for their subjects. The Year 7 and Year 8 students will have had their English and Maths exams early in the week. Teachers will be marking them and getting the results to students as soon as possible. Friday 25 November is Assessment and Report Writing Day. Students are not required at school on this day.

Swimming and STEM week - Week 9

The Year 7 and Year 8 students will be participating in a swimming program through the school. All students are expected to attend as this is a program that is part of their PE curriculum. Students who have chosen not to participate will be expected to stay at school and participate in water safety classes during their classes allocated to swimming time. Consent and payment must be made through Compass. The Year 8 students will be participating in a STEM Program. They will be spending a double session each day creating a theme park. These models will be on display for the Year 7 students to walk through and experience on the Friday of that week. It is a really fun program that all of the students from Years 7 and 8 participate in.

Last week of classes - Week 10

Week 10 is the last week of classes for all students. On Monday 5 December, the students will attend their normal classes. Students will then have their activities that they have chosen on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. These activities will either be off-site, where consent and payment can be made through Compass or on-site for the free activities. Friday 9 December will be a Beach Day. All students from Year 7 to Year 9 will be taken to Torquay beach where they will spend the day. Students are expected to attend these activity days.

Awards Night - Week 11

The Awards Night is an especially important night for all Staff and Students at the College. It will be held on Wednesday 14 December at Costa Hall, Deakin Waterfront Campus. The ceremony will start at 7:00 pm. Students who are receiving awards will need to attend rehearsals at the venue at 1:00 pm. Students are not required at school during the day and are expected to wear their full academic uniform.
