Principal's Report

“Coming together is a beginning;  keeping together is progress; working together is success.” – Henry Ford

We had so much fun on Halloween and loved having the children come past our offices for 'trick or treating'. Congratulations to Dylan and Maya for winning 'best costume'. Look out for more photos in this edition!

Communication from School to Home

To enable us to continue on our journey together as educators and parents/ carers with the same purpose, we must always be looking at our communication to ensure it is meaningful, effective, positive and essentially, goes both ways. Further to some feedback from our families we have implemented a couple of changes that we hope will further enhance our communication to you:

Teacher absences- When your child’s teacher is absent you will receive a notification via compass that morning to let you know that a replacement staff will be there instead.

Swimming- If we have to cancel swimming due to staffing or any other issues you will also receive a notification via compass that morning.

Communication from Home to School

To improve our current processes at school and to allow us to align with the Department of Education policies in regards to absences, we will be implementing a change from Monday 14th November. If your child is absent from school and you have not notified the school or placed it on compass you will receive a notification from Compass asking you to update why your child is not at school on that day.

For all of the above communication changes to work you will need to have the Compass App on your phone. If you have any trouble with this please do not hesitate to contact us and we will assist you in any way we can.

Capital Works

I am sure you will be able to see the new building beginning to take shape now. This week on a very warm, sunny day Sandra and I had a site visit and were excited to see it looking very recognisable as a school building. We are lucky to have some aerial photos to share.

Staffing

We are very busy at the moment working on our staffing and classes for 2023. Once this is finalised, we will send home the information. We are recruiting for classroom teachers, ES and Allied Health staff. If you know of anyone who would be interested in applying, please point them in our direction!

Start Date Term 1 2023

School council have approved two curriculum days at the start of Term 1 in 2023 , therefore the start date for students will be Tuesday 31st January.

We said goodbye to our Occupational Therapist Emily Crawford last week and wish her well as she takes up a position in another school. Currently we have no therapy staff, however, I am confident we will have them in place for next year.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Warm Regards

Lindy
