In our classrooms

Good day Endeavour Hills Specialist School Families. Here is a snapshot of what is happening in our classrooms over the beginning of Term 4!

Remembrance Day

We are very pleased to share that Endeavour Hills Specialist School was able to celebrate our first Remembrance Day together with flags flown at half mast. Our Federal, First Nations, and State flags have finally arrived and students from Heath will be ensuring our school flags are flown appropriately each day. Students across the school participated in Remembrance day activities and while this year the Last Post was played digitally perhaps we will find a bugle player amongst our community. Karen? Tim?

Thank you to all of our respectful students who participated today.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club has arrived at Endeavour Hills Specialist School! Thanks to many kind donations from Kellogg’s, Woolworths Endeavour Hills, Bakers Delight Endeavour Hills, K Mart Endeavour Hills, Reveal Church Community Care Program Endeavour Hills and several extremely generous EHSS families, we now have a toaster, plates, cereal, milk, juice and spreads and more.

Students have started learning how to manage a toaster, spread butter, pour cereal and milk, wash and dry dishes and lots of other skills. Many of our staff have enjoyed assisting students develop these skills and ensure that our students have a healthy start to their school day.

Peppermint Place

The students in Peppermint have been enjoying a wide variety of different learning experiences.

We have continued to enjoy exploring our literacy through the Little Learner Program, we have consolidated our number sense through lots of different activities and also enjoyed sensory, science and fine motor skills with a spooky Halloween theme!

Our Halloween learning and fun also ended with a parade of all the students in their costumes.

Boo-tiful work everyone!!!

6c has been working hard at developing number skills and learning some useful strategies for working together. Literacy has focused upon reading and writing about Charlie and Chocolate Factory.

6e has focused upon developing their knowledge of Remembrance Day, looking at what we remember and why it is important for us to remember the past.

Both grades have been extending their knowledge of safety in the kitchen, learning to use graters and fry pans. Students have made banana pikelets, san choy bau and veggie fritters.
