Boarding News

We are already half way through Term 4 and what an incredibly busy term it has been to date!

We have been to St Peter’s for a dance, hosted BBC for a pool party and BBQ, been shopping to Chermside and DFO, and kept ourselves amused indoors as well with board games and movie evenings.  Brisbane Grammar School will be visiting us for a social this Saturday night and the rest of the term’s outings will see us having a day at Southbank with Nudgee College, a bowling evening with St Margaret’s and a trip to Wet n Wild and Eat Street with all boarding schools.

We have also commenced our final term year group outings with Year 11 attending Urban X-treme last Friday night.  Year 9 and 10 will be playing laser tag this Friday evening with Year 7 and 8 also opting for laser tag the following Friday.

Our Year 12 boarders have been working incredibly hard for their final exams and plans are currently being finalised for their final dinner in boarding, in-house disco party and celebrations on Thursday 17 November.

With exams looming for Years 7 to 11, our Prep time each evening has been very quiet with all girls having their heads down and working away.  We are very fortunate to have tutors who assist our girls each evening with their Prep and teachers from the school, who visit the girls and work with them in the afternoons, evenings and weekends.  Thank you, Tina Mills, Chris Humphreys and Sam Lennon, who are constants in our Boarding House.  We appreciate their time and expertise and also our tutors, Claudia, Olivia, Winnie, Kate and Suzanne.

We are finally rowing again!  COVID-19 rained on our parade last year but I am happy to advise that any interested girls will be commencing learn-to-row classes on Saturday mornings for four weeks with Brisbane GPS Rowing.  The cost for the four weeks is $250.  If you are interested, please contact Christine at boarding@clayfield.qld.edu.au and we will send you through the details to register.
