About the Heritage Roll

The SVC Heritage Roll of Honour is a list of Old Scholars of the College who have distinguished themselves in the community both locally, in Australia and/or abroad and whom the Committee of the Old Virgilians Association believe are worthy of recognition for the contribution they have made and the credit to the College that has resulted from that contribution.

The Roll was created in 2006 following a suggestion by OVA committee member Roger Smart.

In outward recognition of admission to the Roll of Honour, a Citation is formally presented to each recipient at the OVA annual dinner. A photo of each recipient is displayed in the History Centre of the College.

The Committee encourages anyone to nominate or propose an old boy of the College for inclusion on the Roll of Honour. Any nominations should detail the achievements of the nominee and their contribution to the local, Australian and or overseas community and be forwarded to the Secretary of the Old Virgilians Association.

The Archives continues to record the feats of former students and these records also have become a source for the Committee – all told the archives  currently contains 780 stories of former students in its ‘Inspiration/Achievement’ file.  To have your story or the story of another included refer to the 'Tell Us Your Story’ on the OVA website or contact Graeme Rainbow  (Archivist/OVA Secretary), grainbow@stvirgils.tas.edu.au or 0467 514 667.

The Committee of Management shall meet to specifically consider all nominations received at which all deliberations of the committee will be made in the strictest confidence. In all cases the Committee shall consider the merits of each nominee using the following criteria:
