Hello Everyone,
Finally, we seem to be having the type of weather which allows the students to go outside at snack and lunchtimes - no one likes to be inside all day!
The State Wide Orientation Day will be held on Tuesday 13th December where students will be placed into their next year’s classes along with their teachers for 2023. It has been great to see our transition program in place this term to trial these combinations. The timing of this day will run from 9am to 12pm from Prep to Year 5. Our current Year 6 students will be involved in a Flying Start program for the week. New students can be collected from the office and current 2022 students will go back to their current classes.

Are you needing ideas for Christmas presents? Have you considered technology which could be used for your child's learning? We are in the early stages of implementing BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) at our College and a learning device for your child could be the answer.
At Kyabram P-12 College, we believe that students benefit from having their own mobile device (tablet, netbook or laptop) with them in the school environment. A mobile device allows the student to research, note take, complete work and go some way to be responsible for their learning.
Parents have indicated to us in the past that they would like to own and bring their own mobile devices for students to utilise at school. Therefore, we have a BYOD program in place. Mobile phones are not considered suitable devices for this program.
If you choose not to be part of this program, we are not able to guarantee that your child will have consistent 1 to 1 access to computers whilst at our College. Students will be required to bring their device to school each day in good working order and fully charged.
All families will be responsible for the purchase, care, and maintenance of their child’s device.
Further information for purchasing device at a discounted rate can be found on the link below:

The Colour Run was a terrific opportunity to bring the community together. It was excellent to see the generosity of local businesses and community clubs, providing donations or lending a helping hand at this event. The proceedings of the Colour Run fundraising, along with the money raised from our casual dress day will go towards supporting Rochester Primary and Secondary schools from the impact of the recent floods. Lots of planning and preparation went into such an event - thank you to everyone who was involved, a special thank you goes to Sarah Mangan for all her behind the scenes work.
As the holidays gradually approach, the stamina in staff, students and parents can begin to fade from a rather busy year. Many challenges have been proposed to the staff and students to 'find the fun' in the final few weeks of the year. This can range from themed dress days, festive costumes, trying new things, to Christmas competitions. Miss Parkinson, our Year 5/6 Learning Community Leader, has put forward a Christmas competition to our college community. She is inviting all students and staff to get into the Christmas spirit by decorating their learning areas or offices. This will be judged in Week 11 and the rightful winner will be rewarded.
