New - Founders Day

Friday 25th November, St Marys will celebrate Founders Day.

Grade 5/6 students will lead activities for all areas to participate in.

All students are asked to wear their House colors.

New - 2022 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS)

 Congratulations to the following students who elected to participate in this year’s UNSW Global ICAS tests. They have all just received their final results.

  • Ewan Ryan, Year 3 – Writing (participation), English (credit), Spelling Bee (credit), Science (credit), Mathematics (participation)

A special mention to Cherie Smith who received a distinction for her score in Science (this puts her in the top 10% of participants for Year 5) and a high distinction for her score in English (this puts her in the top 1% of participants for Year 5). 

New - Mackillop Art Exhibition

 

On Friday evening 11th November the Mary MacKillip Art Exhibition was opened at the Bendigo Cathedral. Mrs Willson organised some of our student’s artwork to be part of the exhibition. Bella Walsh’s (Yr 3) piece of artwork was selected as a runner up in the People’s Choice award. It was titled “Magnificent Beetle” and was created using chalk pastel, black and white PVA glue, and Metallic Paint Pens.

Jayden Atkinson’s (Yr 5) artwork was titled “Strong Wind” and was created using cardboard and paint.

Ella Davkovski’s (Yr 6) artwork was titled “The Great Wave” was created using paint and paper.

Edward Gladman (Prep) artwork was titled “Koala” was created using paint and paper.

We congratulate these 4 students for being selected to represent St Mary’s in 2022.

New - St Marys Got Talent

We recently held St Mary's Got Talent and had so many students following our school motto 'Let Your light Shine' The students performed in front of many other students showcasing their talents.  Well done to everyone who participated and thank you to those who came along to support our talented performers.

New - Confirmation Celebration

Congratulations to all students from our last group of students who celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation recently. The students were reverent in their participation of the mass and are now fully initiated members of the Church.

New - 3/4 Excursion to Imax & Melbourne Museum

Our Grade 3/4 students travelled to Melbourne and visited the Melbourne Museum and Imax. The students had a great day and represented the school respect in  positive and respectful manner.

New - 1/2 Excursion to Vinnies

Our 1/2 classes recently visited Vinnies and made some donations for their Christmas Appeal Giving Tree. The students also learnt about the important role Vinnies plays in providing support and social justice to so many people around Australia.

New - Just Leadership Day

Some of our Grade 5 students participated in a 'Just Leadership Day' here at St Mary's where students from other schools joined us. The students met new friends, learnt about Caritas and the important role it plays in helping and supporting less privileged communities around the world, Social Justice and Leadership in preparations for their year as Grade 6 Leaders.

New - T20 Cricket

Congratulations to both our girls and boys T20 cricket teams who had some great wins, displayed awesome sportsmanship and lots of fun last Friday.  They have both made it thorugh to the next stage, regionals, being played this Friday.

Our girls won their Grandfinal and the boys made the grandfinal without success.

Good Luck to both teams.

New - Thankyou from St Josephs PS Rochester

Our 3/4 students prepared some Activity booklets and letters of support for students of St Josephs Primary School who were recently affected by the devastating floods.

What a lovely & compassionate gesture by our 3/4 Area.
