New - Special Friends Day & National Reconciliation Week launch

Wow, what a great day! It was so nice to have our families back on site. Such a strong sense of community was felt. It feels like such a long time since we've been able to celebrate in this way. When you think about it most of our Prep/One/Two families haven't experienced a day like today. What a blessing it was to be able to come together again! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend.

It was so nice to be able to celebrate such an important cultural event.  It was so special to have past students with us, who now attend St. Annes, thank you to Chase Morgan & Sharleese Walker who welcomed us to Country & the Andrew's Family who were a part of our liturgy.  A big thank you to Michael Chisholm from CES Limited and Fr Peter who took time out of their busy schedules to be with us. Their support is always welcomed and appreciated.

Also a big thank you to everyone who helped make our Special Friend's Day happen! It was a real team effort.

Dean for organising the sausage sizzle, thanks to Leah Hawker & Hannah who helped Dean with the BBQ. Thank you to the amazing team in the canteen who helped to get the sausages & burgers out so quickly.

Thank you to our Year 6 Leaders who really shone today leading our school and all our children who joined in the day so joyfully. The smiles on their faces while working with their parents, grandparents, family members or special friends was just so beautiful to witness.

Thank you to our sponsors ~ Bakers Delight City & Riverside Plaza who supplied all our bread & to Krueger's Coliver Road Butchers who supplies our yummy snags & veggie burgers.

We can't wait for our next community event!

New - Launch of our Laudato Si Action Plan and Celebration of Catholic Earthcare’s 20th Anniversary

On Monday 23rd of May our Year 6 Leadership Sustainability Team and some of our Year 6 Leaders attended the Sandhurst Diocese Launch of our Laudato Si Action Plan and Celebration of Catholic Earthcare’s 20th Anniversary in Nathalia.

This was a special celebration where CES staff, parishioners & schools were able to come together to celebrate and acknowledge the important work we are doing on our journey towards ecological justice for our common home.

Bishop Shane was inspiring when he spoke to our children and talked to them about the 7 Laudato Si Goals that Pope Francis has given us to follow. He also spoke about our call to care for God's creation and as he spoke the cockatoos sang louder than ever in the gum trees along the Broken Creek where we were all standing. The sun was also shining and we were reminded how blessed we are to be surrounded by so much beauty in nature.

Our students were presented with a Laudato Si Olive Tree, a Sandhurst Earthcare Certificate and Earthcare Badges to wear with pride and bring back to our school. We are so proud of our Year 6 Leaders they represented our school community so respectfully.

New - National Reconciliation Week ~ National Sorry Day

During prayer journaling this week we were able to open the discussion about National Reconciliation Week and the theme ~ Be Brave, Make Change. We spoke about our stories and our culture and how it shapes us.

We also read the picture book 'Country' and explored our connection to Country and the importance of caring for our land and God's creation. Our children were able to draw & write about what they loved about Country, what they were grateful for, what they were connected to and what gave them joy & peace.
