Year 7 and 8 Cyber Safety Sessions

Year 7 students participated in Cyber Safety Sessions run by Victoria Police and Year 8 students participated in sessions run by Optus Digital Thumbprint Program.

Students explore the importance of respectful relationships online through compelling scenarios, and are asked to consider their impact when interacting online. Young people discuss consent online, image-based abuse, and the tools they have to positively support themselves and their peers, understand the impact our actions have online and learn strategies to seek help for yourself or others.

Youth Advisory Training sessions

The WAG (Wellbeing Advisory Group), SRC and House Leaders particpated in half a day training run by Headspace. This training is completely designed and facilitated by young people (under 25). This includes Youth Advocacy Group members, Youth Peer Workers, and clinical staff members from Headspace.

IDAHOBIT DAY - TUESDAY 17TH MAY

31 years ago - on May 17, 1990 - the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems. International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia & Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) celebrates LGBTQIA+ people globally and raises awareness for the work still needed to combat discrimination.

ECSC made a pledge and is taking a stand against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia & Transphobia. Students completed work in their wellbeing classes on how to support the LBGTIQA+ community and their allies and how to create an inclusive environment at school. A flag raising ceremony and lunchtime activities and trivia were available for students to attend.
