Update on P&F Roles

Earlier this month the P&F held their Annual AGM where our new committee for 2022 was elected.  Lynette Nilaweera has decided to step down from her role as President.  We would all like to say a huge thank you to Lynette, who has put in countless hours over the past few years pulling together events for the school and has contributed immensely to funds raised for our school.  Also a huge thank you to Nadelle Walters who has put her hand up to be our P&F Secretary again.

We are still looking for someone to come on board as our Treasurer and assist with managing our event budgets and reporting monthly updates to School Council.  If you have considered getting more involved with P&F and would be willing to take on this role we would love to hear from you.  Please email us at bps.parentsfriends@gmail.com

With that, I would like to introduce myself, Rebecca Pooley as your new P&F President.  I have been at BPS since 2017 with Jack who is currently in 5W and Jessica who is in 2C.  I am very excited to take on this role and look forward to bringing back some much loved and missed events that haven’t been able to take place over the past few years due to COVID, as well as working with the school to create new opportunities for families to get to know each other.  We understand that the past few years have been tough and are conscious that some of the younger families at the school haven’t been given the opportunities to connect or socialise with other school members.

Fundraising Events

There have been lots of exciting things happening on P&F these past few weeks, firstly our Easter Egg drive has come to an end, thank you to everyone who sold their boxes of chocolates, so far we have raised close to $5,500 and there are still a few more boxes to be sold.  If you haven’t yet returned your money, can you please contact the office to organise this ASAP.

Saturday 21 May - Election Day

The next big event for P&F is the Election Day Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall.

Your eldest child should have bought a plate home last week, this plate is for you to return a baked item for us to sell at our cake stall on the day,  if you haven’t received one, please contact the office.  Cake stalls are very popular in our area, so our aim is to get the whole school baking for this important fundraiser.  Cakes- from chocolate to carrot-, biscuits or cookies, slices or balls are all popular when it's homemade. Jams, honey, Kasundi or any local or international delicacies are all welcomed.  There are detailed instructions included with the plates, if you want more plates or labels you can get these from the office.  Or if you do not wish to participate, please return your plate to the office.

Make sure you head to the school gym to vote on Saturday and pick up your freshly baked items as well as grab a sausage and a drink.

If you have a few hours to spare and can assist with helping on either stall, please sign up now to help:
