Alumni Program

We’ve had a busy start to Term 2 with several alumni visiting. Mount Clear College, Beaufort Secondary College and Phoenix P-12 Community College have recently joined the Ourschool Community, establishing their own alumni programs. During our VCAL session last week we had representatives from those schools observe the session.

Flying in from Brisbane specifically for this event, he spoke to our emerging leaders about his leadership journey, including managing a diverse workforce during a pandemic. Incredibly proud of his Ballarat roots and his education at BHS, Mark is the Global CEO of the Icon Group and leads teams across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Mark also spoke to the year 10 boys about the importance of grasping opportunities presented to them. Giving back is something Mark is passionate about and we thank him for his continued support of our alumni program!

Grace Bibby - 2011, Kale Faull - 2014 and Emma Fowkes - 2016, were gracious enough to give up their time last week and chat with our VCAL students about their career pathways. Grace, a business owner and social media consultant, Emma, a Real-Time Analyst at the National Relay Service and Kale, a tiler for the Tidy Group, touched on the reality of life after school, the continuous journey of finding the ideal career and the importance of educating yourself post-school. With such varied pathways including gap years, university experience and casual employment, our alumni had a lot of advice for the group.
