Year 11 Leadership Conference

Last week, 20 of our year 11 students took part in the Year 11 Leadership Conference. The theme of our conference was ‘Improving Respect for Student Diversity’. The students attended the conference for three days taking part in workshops, listening to guest speakers and completing a group project that they will present to staff, students and parents this week.

Jesse McLean from Leading Teams Australia, came to discuss legacy and personal trademark. He encouraged students to think about how they want to be perceived and what sort of legacy they might leave behind once they have finished their BHS journey.

Mark Middleton, our guest speaker on day two, made his trip all the way from Brisbane just so he could “give back to the school”. Mark spoke of his fond memories during his time at Ballarat High School and took us through his incredible life and work journey.

The students showed gratitude, respect and excellent leadership skills. We’re excited to see how our school will be led by some of these incredible students in 2023.
