Crazy Dress Up Day - Fundraising for Kiva

Last Thursday the 2nd of June our Junior School Council and Grade 6 student leaders developed a highly successful fundraising event  for all the students at Mackellar Primary School.

All students were encouraged to come to school with crazy hair, crazy socks or crazy clothing. In return we requested each student bring a gold coin donation which will be loaned to Kiva. In total we raised $323.50. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the students, their families and teachers who participated and donated to this worthy cause. We wouldn't have been able to achieve this without the support of our whole school community.

We are very excited to announce that we have been able to use the donation to assist families around the world and be active contributors in our whole school vision 'Empowering Global Citizens'. 

We have currently spent $140 from our Crazy Dress Up Day and were able to assist some citizens around the world already.

We were fortunate enough to raise enough money to loan money to Hang in Vietnam . She will use the money to buy school supplies and pay tuition for her children.

We were also able to loan money to Anarkan from Kyrgyzstan which will assist with crop cultivation. She will use the loan to buy potato seeds for sowing, in order to sell organic potatoes
