Performing Arts

This term in Performing Arts, students from Prep to Year 6 have been learning about music. Students composed and performed music using their voice, body, instruments and digital technologies. Where possible the Italian language was used.

The Prep students have been investigating the fundamentals of music through activities based around beat, rhythm, pitch, dynamics and tempo. Students from Year 1 and 2 have been focusing on dynamics, rhythm and beat. The students learnt to create and compose simple music pieces by using percussion instruments. The students sang a wide variety of songs and played a range of tuned and un-tuned instruments.

Students in Year 3 and 4 learnt about a range of instruments and body percussion. The students selected suitable sounds for a musical composition. The students in Year 5 and 6 composed music using ‘GarageBand’ APP and learning the basics of creating electronic music.
