Year 3/4–Celebrating Learning
3/4 Mainstream
In 3/4A and 3/4B, students have deepened their understanding of what a life cycle is for a eucalypt. Here are some of the fantastic things the students have learned.
The students have also been involved in Vocabulary lessons, learning 5 new tier 2 words weekly. They learn how many syllables the word has, the different phonemes, consonants, vowels, long vowels, short vowels and they even have a go at drawing them. You can always ask any student in 3/4B what their words of the week are and they should be able to teach you all of the above!
During Reconciliation week, students learnt about Vincent Lingiari and the Wave Hill walk off. We listened to Paul Kelly’s ‘From Little Things, Big Things Grow’ and talked about how small actions can grow into big changes. We completed a brainstorm about ways that we could ‘Be Brave, Make Change’.
3 Steiner
The children of 3S have been focused in their theoretical and practical studies during their main lesson on FARMING (P1). They have been learning about traditional farming practices and indigenous agriculture (thanks to Bruce Pascoe’s, Young Dark Emu).
They have joyfully prepared the garden beds and sown the seeds of wheat ready to observe its growth throughout the year and bake bread before the end of year holiday period. Check out the fun the children are having in Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships.
