Performing Arts

This week in Performing Arts:

The 3/4 students are currently completing a Beatboxing unit, learning how to produce a range of sounds using their mouths. Beatboxing is an excellent ‘way in’ for students to use their voices when often they may not want to. We have learnt the bass and snare drum sounds so far and are working together to broaden our beat boxing repertoire further. So far, the enthusiasm, rhythm and creativity of the students when beatboxing has been fantastic!

The 5/6 students should be commended on the fantastic recycled instruments they have created either independently or with a group over the past few weeks. We have just about finished watching all the performances and I am truly proud of what all the students were able to put together. I applaud all the 5/6 students for performing in front of their peers. From the ‘Hard Hat Band’ to the ‘Baby Hand Band’ and more, what wonderfully fun and creative musicians they have all been.
