Stage 5 Japanese

Stage 6 Japanese Excursion to UTS

On Tuesday, 17th May, Year 11 Japanese students visited the University of Technology, Sydney. They experienced a 90 minute Japanese university lesson and, in particular, studied more advanced grammar, vocabulary and reading skills.

Our students read Japanese texts about Kaiten-zushi (Sushi train) by analysing, decoding and translating with university students. It was not only an observation of how university students learn Japanese but also a great opportunity for them to talk about their pathway.

After the intense Japanese lesson, our students had lunch at a Kaiten-zushi restaurant and experienced ordering Sushi using Japanese touch panel (please see the photo), and visited Japanese grocery shop Maruyu (Matcha ice cream!) and famous Kinokuniya bookshop (Manga and Japanese books) and Daiso (cute stickers)

There were many places we could find “Japan” and experience the Japanese-speaking community in Sydney.

Tanoshikatta! (It was enjoyable day)
