From the Library

Please return your library books

As of the 12th March we have 1,025 overdue books!

This is an unusually high volume of overdue books which we understand is partly due to the disruption of last year. Many of these books have been on loan since last year and we need them back as soon as possible, so we can continue to provide all students with a great selection of books.

When a book is two weeks or more overdue, students are notified by automated overdue emails, every fortnight to their school email account.  Up to 4 notices are emailed, then a replacement invoice will be posted to the home address early in term 2, if the book/s have not been returned.

If you have misplaced or lost a book, please come and see one of the friendly Library staff.

For books borrowed in 2021

If you are still reading your book/s, you can renew them online through the Compass Star menu, Library Sign In to access the John Cain Library page.

  • Choose the SSO (Single Sign On button) and enter your NHS email and Compass password.
  • Select the icon in the top right corner (your first name) and choose borrowing details from the dropdown menu.
  • When the dashboard loads, hover your mouse over each title you have on loan and the renew button will pop up.
  • Click on the renew button and you will see the return date update for another two weeks.  We also renew books at the Library desk.

When you have finished with the books you have on loan, please bring them back so that others can share your love of reading and borrow great books to read over the term break.
