Principal Report

Dear Parents

 

Happy Easter and Happy Holidays.

 

I wish to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the beautiful wishes and messages you have given me over the last few weeks.

 

Dohertys Creek College is a very special school. It is a real community school. A community of beautiful, bright, honest, open children, kind, caring, respectful parents and dedicated hard working teachers and staff.

 

I will miss the school so much and seeing our children grow into wonderful citizens. Thank you for your understanding that I need to retire and enjoy my family and start a new chapter.

 

I wish to thank the amazing support of School Council in helping start our school. Special thanks to Sarvat, the School Council president for the last 2 1/2 years.

 

I wish to thank the amazing staff who have who have helped shaped this school. We started from empty buildings and have created a really amazing culture of learning and relationships. Thank you.

 

I wish to thank the Admin staff for supporting our school, students and particularly me. They have such an important role in ensuring the school operates well.  Thank you  

 

I wish to thank Conrad, our amazing handyman who puts my ideas into reality. He has created some some amazing spaces for children. Thank you.

 

I wish to thank Karen, our amazing artist who has helped transform our school into a child friendly  fun place to be.

 

I wish to thank the incredible Brianna and Sam who together as a team have used skill, passion and hard work to create the unique school we have today. Thankyou for your dedication to our vision.

 

We have started the school with a clear vision and mission.  We are well on the way to achieving that.

 

The school will grow in strength with the new buildings and landscaping to be completed in November. New playgrounds, shade and basketball courts are well on the way of completion. 

 

Our Kitchen Garden will open next term.

Our school is in a healthy financial state, and we have a very positive future.

 

I wish every DCC family all the very best and I know this school will continue to be the school of excellence it has become.

STAFFING TERM 2

Brianna will be acting Principal in Term 2 until the new Principal is appointed. The process of appointing a new Principal began Monday night.

 

Malinda will be acting assistant Principal for Term 2. 

 

We farewell Jane S who has made a significant contribution to establishing a quality Mandarin program. Jane is taking 12 months leave.

 

We thank Alex who has been working with children in the tutoring program.

 

Our Staff changes:

  • New Mandarin Teacher and Performing Arts Teacher to start in Term 2
  • New Assistant Principal and Leading Teacher appointed to prepare for Year 7 next year, 2021.
  • Mark in Year 2 will move to the tutoring program and a new teacher will be appointed to start Term 2 in Marks class.
