Production Update

As you can see from the images on this page, work has well and truly begun on choreography for Chicago, the entire ensemble cast have already blocked out the huge opening number ‘And all that Jazz’ and are now working toward nailing down the remaining set pieces.  Energy is high and just this week, Year 11 student Elle Twigg has graciously accepted a position as Dance Captain. Congratulations Elle, (that’s her in the front of the dance group with the funky hair)!

As we move through the rehearsal process, we will be calling for expressions of interest if parents and families would like to assist in creating the wardrobe and makeup for the show.  If you feel you would be interested in assisting with the show, please contact the Friends of Performing and Visual Arts (FOPAVA).

Details will be released regarding this as we get further into the show design.

Now to clear up some confusion regarding 'rehearsal absences’ which have been concerning some parents.

ALL cast members are required for Wednesday rehearsals.

This includes the ensemble cast, featured dancers, 'cell block' members, and the principal cast.

Ensemble cast members are usually NOT required for Thursday rehearsals.

This WILL change over time as the show starts to take shape.

As this is a College sponsored event, we are required to mark a student roll on both rehearsal days. This is so we know exactly who is on site at any given time in order to comply with emergency procedures and college documentation policy.

Therefore if your child is marked absent on for a Thursday rehearsal and is an ensemble cast member you can, for the moment, safely ignore these absences.

We are working on creating a more flexible roll which would allow us to add or remove specific sections of the ensemble for future rehearsals.
