WHOLE SCHOOL SWIMMING
& WATER SAFETY PROGRAM - Weeks 7 & 8
ONE WEEK TO GO!
We are now only one week away from beginning our 9-day Whole School Swimming program at the BlueFit Swim School in Sandringham. Please ensure you have accepted the Operoo permission email or have emailed your child’s teacher in regards to their participation. It’s vital that all children come to school each day prepared for these swimming lessons, so we ask that you please read over all information shared in the Operoo email. Note: All students are required to attend. Spectators welcome: the pool has wonderful spectator stands for family members to come along and view their child swim. Please assist Swim Instructing staff by staying off the busy pool deck area.
*Important: SWIMMING CAPS are COMPULSORY.
All 2023 Prep students and new students to the school this year will receive a school house cap (may be used for these swim lessons) by mid next week. Replacement house-coloured caps may also be purchased from the office. All items of what to wear and bring for the lessons can be found in detail within the Operoo.
Note: Googles are also COMPULSORY, so please ensure your child has a suitable set for this program.
DISTRICT ATHLETICS - Friday 25th August
Our Athletics team is finalised now and we have a team of 79 students representing our school at the upcoming Dendy District Athletics carnival on Friday 25th August. We wish our team members all the very best as they prepare for their event/s. This year the Dendy Athletics carnival is being held at Duncan McKinnon Reserve in Murrumbeena. All team member families will have received an Operoo permission and information email last week. We ask that each family takes the time to sit down with their child and read over all details for the day; especially the SSV rules for their respective track &/or field events; as well as the Dendy Code of Conduct.
PLEASE HELP! - PARENT SUPPORT REQUIRED.
Any parents willing to volunteer an hour or two to help run the triple jump event, please email Tania with your availability or tick the helper section within the Operoo email. Thank you.
REGIONAL FINALS BOUND - Junior Future Star Flames
We’ve been informed this week that our winning Future Star Flames team from last week’s Junior HoopTime tournament; are set to attend Regional HoopTime on Thursday 26th October at Waverly Stadium. We wish them all the very best for this next level of play. Details for arranging travel and all information will go out in the first week of term four.
GOOD LUCK - SMR Netball PlayOffs
Our Mixed Netball team have been putting in a few practise sessions during recess times over the past couple of weeks; preparing themselves for their next tournament at the Southern Metropolitan Regional Netball Playoffs in Pakenham. An Operoo has gone home this week to players' families, with all relevant details and parent transport requests. We wish them all the very best for their final training sessions together before their big day on Friday 18th August!
REQUEST:
RETURN OF ALL BORROWED SF SPORTS TOPS
We still have a few borrowed Winter Sport jerseys / soccer jerseys &/or HoopTime singlets to be returned. If we can please ask all Year 3-6 families to have a thorough search at home with their child & ensure every student has handed it back to their class teachers by tomorrow please. Thank you!
