Events for Term Three

Sacrament of First Eucharist

Our Year 4 students are currently preparing to receive the blessed Eucharist for the first time. Please see below, important information about this sacrament.

Reflection Day - Thursday 17th August - The children will participate in activities related to the sacrament and are invited to wear casual clothes on this day.
Parish Sacrament Mass 1 - Saturday 19th August at 6pm
Parish Sacrament Mass 2 - Saturday 26th August at 6pm

Beachside Division Mixed Netball - Wednesday 19th July

The successful Year 5/6 St Agnes’ Mixed Netball team is headed off to the Beachside Division Championships on Wednesday 19th July at Oakleigh Recreation Centre, 2 Park Rd Oakleigh. The students will travel by bus and are expected to be in their correct sports uniform, with interschool sports top.

PSG Meetings - Wednesday 19th-Friday 21st July

Program Support Group Meetings will be held next week. Families involved have been contacted directly about appointments for these meetings. Josie Miller will chair these meetings because Ms Di Pietro is still on leave.

School Advisory Council Meetings - Tuesday 25th July, Tuesday 29th August

There are two School Advisory Council (SAC) Meetings this term. Meetings are held at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room above the office. Thank you to our SAC Members for your continued consultation and contribution to the leadership of our school. The 2023 SAC Members are: Anton Duddy (Chair), Charlene Vien (Secretary), Luci Minogue, Martin Cox, Fiona Newington, Josh Ryan, Carly Monahan and Felicity Langley.

Fete Committee Meeting - Tonight Wednesday 26th July

The next Fete Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 26th July at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room at school. We look forward to the big event on Saturday 16th March 2024.

Prep-Year 2 Parish Mass - Friday 28th July at 9am

Our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students will again participate in Friday morning mass with weekday massgoers. This is part of the faith life of our school and strengthening the connection between our parish/school. Parents are welcome to attend.

P&F Disco - Friday 28th July

We thank our P&F, especially our Prep and Year 4 parents for hosting the P&F Disco on Friday 28th July. Head across to the P&F Page for tickets and more information.

Year 5/6 Hooptime - Monday 31st July

All students from Year 5 and 6 will head off to Hooptime Basketball at MSAC on Monday 31st July. Details to follow via Operoo.

Prep 100 Days Celebration and Assembly - Wednesday 2nd August

Our Prep students will celebrate 100 days of school on Wednesday 2nd August with a dress up day, special lunch and activities. We will also look forward to their assembly in the afternoon on this day!

Prep Responsible Pet Ownership Incursion - Friday 4th August

Our Prep students will participate in a Responsible Pet Ownership incursion where they learn about caring for animals and behaviours around dogs.

Family Maths Day - Monday 7th August

Our parents are invited to participate in our Family Maths Day activities on Monday 7th August. We will be opening classrooms and welcoming parents in to participate in Mathematics activities related to our current unit of work on Fractions, Decimals and Percentages. More information to come.

Year 3/4 Hooptime - Tuesday 8th August

All students from Year 3 and 4 will head off to Hooptime Basketball at MSAC on Tuesday 8th August. Details to follow via Operoo.

Year 5/6 Relationships and Sexuality Education Parent/Child Session - Tuesday 8th August at 7pm

We have a parent/child education session focused on development, relationships and sexuality for our Year 5 and 6 students scheduled for Tuesday 8th August. More information to follow.

Bullying No Way Day - Wednesday 9th August

Our Year Six Leaders are organising a day of action against bullying on Wednesday 9th August. This will be a casual dress day. More information to follow.

School Closure Day - Monday 14th August

There is a school closure day on Monday 14th August for staff to undertake professional learning. We will be completing First Aid Training and learning more about Respectful Relationships to enhance implementation in our classrooms. I am awaiting confirmation form Extend regarding for provision of onsite care and supervision. I am expecting there to be care available, assuming there is a minimum of 10 students attending. I will confirm this once finalised.

Sacrament of Confirmation

Our Year Six students have a busy term, as they prepare for our production and also the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please see below, the important dates for this sacrament:

Family Faith Night - Wednesday 16th August at 7.00pm
Reflection Day - Thursday 7th September
Sacrament Mass - Saturday 9th September

It is important for families to be aware that we do not get a choice of confirmation dates; these are determined by the Regional Bishop due to the high number of parishes that require this service.

Book Week Parade and Activities - Wednesday 23rd August

Our school will celebrate Childrens Book Week on Wednesday 23rd August with a dress up day, parade and also some special activities to promote a love of literature. Time to start planning the outfit now!

Father’s Day Stall - Friday 25th August

The children will be able to purchase Father’s Day gifts for their Dads or special male figures on Friday 25th August. Thank you to our P&F and Year 2 parents for making this happen!

Father’s Day Breakfast and Celebrations - Thursday 31st August

The Father’s and Special Friends Day Breakfast will held in the School Hall on Thursday 31st August from 7.30am. This is always a special event for our school. Helpers will be needed - Please get involved to make it a special morning for our Dads and kids. The breakfast will be followed by a short presentation from the students.

Holt District Athletics Carnival - Friday 1st September

A representative team will go to Duncan Mackinnon Reserve on Friday 1st September to compete against other Catholic schools from Holt District. Mr Kost will be organising trials during PE classes this term to place children into events.

School Production at Kilbreda College - Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th September

Madagascar the Musical Jr will be presented over two nights at Kilbreda College in Mentone. All students are expected to be present for both nights please, to ensure we can put on the best performance possible! Tickets will go on sale soon!

iSea iCare Workshop 3 - Tuesday 12th September

Our Year 5/6 Science, Technology and Environment Leaders will be heading to their third iSea iCare workshop on Tuesday 12th September. More information to follow from Mrs Baker.

Fire Safety Education Program - Wednesday 13th September

There is a fire safety education program happening for our Preps on Wednesday 13th September! We look forward to this exciting event!

Footy Colours Day - Friday 15th September

We celebrate the final day of the term with Footy Colours Day, some fun filled footy activities and hopefully a special lunch! These activities will be planned and led by our Year Six leaders.

Last Day of Term Three - Friday 15th September

The final day of school for Term Three is on Friday 15th September. School Concludes at 1.30pm. Term Four commences on Monday 2nd October.
