Welcome to Term 3!

This week we celebrate NAIDOC Week at Calrossy. All families are warmly invited to join us at the following occasions, outlined below and our students will be involved in various other activities during the week. 

  • Our Whole School Celebration, held in the WCC Hall at 9am on Friday 21st July. This will run for approximately 40 minutes. 

Musical: There is lots to know about the musical, please read the below carefully!

  • Assistance Required: If you fancy yourself as a capable face painter/hair and make-up person and would be willing to help with the leads - we are looking for 10-15 people who are wiling to help with Hair and Make-up. We would love your help at the following times: (no creative talent required, just a willingness to help is, pictures of what is needed will be provided) .     • 9-11am Tuesday 25th July
    • 9-11am Thursday 27th July
    • 4:45-6pm on Thursday 27th July
  • Tickets for the Musical are available for purchase on the QKR! App. There will be an 11:30am Matinee and 6:30pm Evening Performance on Thursday 27th July. Every child is performing and it's not to be missed. 
  • Performance and attendance in the musical is compulsory - every child has a part of play and is expected to be at school as per a normal school day on Thursday 27th July and participate in the evening performance as well. 
  • Please refer to the costume letter (https://thehub.calrossy.nsw.edu.au/send.php?id=39729) to ensure your child has everything they need. Almost everyone in K-6 will need to buy something small, as an under garment (pants/top) to add to their costumes. 
  • Dress Rehearsal - this will occur in Week 2 on Tuesday 25th July.  Students will need to come to school with their hair and make-up done and ready - their costumes will be kept at school.  
  • Performance Day - Thursday 27th July - again, students will need to come to school with their hair and make-up done and ready. They will get changed at school for the 11:30am Matinee performance. After the performance they will change out of their costume and it will remain at school. 

Hot Lunch Orders: Term 3 Permanent lunch orders are now open. Orders will close on Friday the 22nd July (Term 3 Week 1). Wednesday orders will start - 19th July - Week 1 and Friday orders will start - 21st July - Week 1. 

Tasty Treat Roster:

  • Term 3, Week 1: 6 Blue
  • No tasty Treat in Week 2
  • Term 3, Week 3: 5 Blue

Co-curricular: Activities will commence in Week 3, after the Musical. 

Homework: There will be no homework until Week 3, please continue to read widely at home with your child. 

Car Park: You will be amazed when you see how much progress has occurred over the holidays and how wonderful it looks. The carpark is almost finished. Once it is fully operational, we will let you know, when you can use it. 

Gymnastics: Commences this week! Please see the uniform day changes to accommodate the timetable changes. (Year 2, 4, 6Blue - changes are in bold at below in the Sports Uniform table). No Gymnastics in Week 2. 

Winter Uniform: please remember that whilst it is cold in the mornings, the days usually warm up and the classrooms are warm. please send your child in layers - navy jumper, vest, jacket/blazer, that they can take off and make sure everything labelled with their name. Dress Hats are compulsory for Yr3-6 students on Dress uniform days. 

Assembly Schedule: Posted on this page. Our first Assembly will be a combined Chapel with Mrs Collins in Week 3 at 9am for P-6 in the WCC Hall. Please save the date for Friday 1st September for our Special Father's Day Assembly and Morning Tea.
