Year 10 Food Studies

The Year 10 Food Technology class have recently been learning about how food has the capacity to nourish one’s mind and soul – food is a platform to interact with others, form community and create memories. Students were tasked with nominating an adult at school they wished to offer their homemade jam and scones to, and present not only the plate of food, but also a personally crafted note of gratitude to that individual. Heartfelt messages went out to both long term teachers, new to WH teachers, and education support staff. All the adults were genuinely surprised to be given morning tea and a personalised letter. Not only were the selected staff appreciative, but the students themselves felt proud of how they made such a positive contribution to someone’s day, with food being the conduit to make it happen.
