Junior School Report

What’s been happening in the Junior School lately?

Within the Junior School, we have been preparing ourselves for our upcoming exams that will be held during Week 10. This includes the students completing assessment tasks and focusing on revision, so all the students feel ready and prepared for each test. We wish all students good luck for their upcoming exams!

Our Year 9 students have been very busy lately, where they have recently participated in Bushwalking, STEM excursions to the Tech School, Travel Training as well as Year 9 Hero’s Day. From speaking to the students who went on these excursions they enjoyed each activity.

On the 29th of May a group of year 9 students attended a workshop called Heroes Day. The workshop seeks to help students find their voice, equip them with the essential tools to navigate life’s challenges and encourages them to think beyond our everyday assumptions. They workshop was extremely powerful and the students walked away with some beautiful insight into their own lives and the lives of those around them.

Our Year 7’s have been participating in Potato Olympics during Homegroup. Each class made their own individual potato, gave their potato and name and a description of their potato. Each Olympic activity including the following; rolling different distances, hot potato and potato shot put, where each potato was rewarded points to receive an overall winner.

Our Year 7’s and Year 8’s have been participating in school sports over the last couple of weeks. These sports include Football, Netball and Soccer. The students demonstrated teamwork, problem solving skills but most importantly they all have fun. Amazing achievements to all students who partook in these sports to represent the school.

As we look forward into Term 3, there is a lot on the agenda for the students, but the most important thing that they are looking forward to is the School Social. Miss Beale, Mrs Gepp and Miss Jennings will be working very hard to make this the best night possible for all the students attending, so be prepared with your dancing shoes on!
