2023 School Review

Futures are Bright...at Weeden Heights PS!

From the 2023 parent survey for the school review....

What do you love about the school and never want to lose?

  • The community feeling; knowing lots of other parents irrespective of whether they are in my child’s year level
  • The kids all know each other, regardless of class and year level
  • The support that the kids give each other
  • We love Weeden because it is a small and super warm school.  It has best teachers with great experience who always treat children like their own and such beautiful children with care and love full in their heart.  We are more than thrilled and grateful to see XXXX's big improvement and growth with all the help and efforts made by school in this half year.  At Weeden XXXX has his first friends and understood more about real friendship which is not an easy thing for him at all.  Weeden is more like a big family full of love.  XXXX is so lucky to join and be one of them.
  • Friendly community
  • We love the children interact with nature. These are garden and playground. Plenty of things to learn from these.
  • I love the Weeden Heights community and how everybody is so friendly, caring and open to talk to.  This is really what makes WHPS the best!
  • Numbers in the classroom – not being too large.
  • Inclusiveness of all students from Prep to Year 6 working together (Buddy program)
  • OSHC
  • SAKG program, chickens, coding with Vex robotics, 3D printing, school choir, school production, family nights, participating in State Schools Spectacular, OSHC, Wellbeing program
  • The community spirit/culture
  • The inclusivity and community spirit the school as cultured over the years.
  • Family feel, sense of belonging, community, shared belief, care and nurture given to students.
  • Smaller school environment.
  • Everyone knows each other – strong community and lots of parent involvement.
  • Kitchen and garden program with chooks.
  • Public speaking program, camping and other excursions, focussing on thinking skills.
  • Our family love the school community
  • Natural and the garden environment
  • Close community, lovely grounds, friendly teachers, specialist programs, warm atmosphere, clean environment, lots of resources, organised classrooms
  • The size of the school – the children know everyone in all year levels and they play together.  The community is great where parents are involved with making the events inclusive and fun.
  • The 2 things that we have always valued about the school are the teachers and their ability to understand, develop the needed relationship/communication with each student.
  • The community closeness that is in the school is very tight and strong.  Families and their bonding has been a specialty for the school.
