Year 9
The Year 9 cohort have had a very busy semester 1. As part of their Connect classes they are engaging in activities that help them to explore their local community. Students have been able to interact with members of the community in a respectful and responsible manner to further our learning community.
Careers Expo
Students were able to explore various pathways for their future career opportunities. It was great to see the students interacting with the different trade stalls and finding out information about potential job opportunities.
Community Scavenger Hunt
The Year 9 students tested their skills at navigating their way around their local community in Cranbourne. Students had to take photos of local landmarks that they found by decoding clues set up by staff members.
City Experience
The Year 9 students have attended the city last semester and scouted areas they would like to promote for their project. The students enjoyed exploring the CBD and spending time getting to know their surroundings. They will be visiting the city again in semester two to take photos of places in the CBD that they want to promote for their projects.
ACMI excursion
The Year 9 Media class attended Australian Centre for Moving Images. The students really enjoyed learning about the development of moving images in Australia.
Holocaust Museum
The Year 9 students had an exciting opportunity to go to the Holocaust Museum and learn about the experiences of a Holocaust survivor. Through a lens of empathy, students opened their eyes to the atrocities and impact of war, and listened to tales of courage, strength and perseverance. Students were extremely respectful as they listened to Sarah Saaroni, OAM.
Cranbourne Botanic Gardens
As part of the Year 9 Connect program the students have been interacting with their community. They were able to visit it the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens and complete a scavenger hunt. It was great to see them making their way around the gardens and interacting respectfully with other members of the community.
