This week in Reading we have been working on summarising a text. 

VOCABULARY

Summarising: a simple sentence explaining what the main idea of the text is including details of characters, setting, problem and solution.

Fiction: a made up story.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to read a fiction dot book from their blue satchel. After reading, ask them to summarise the text using characters, setting, problem and solution. 

For example:  Goldilocks was in the forest and she saw  the three bears house. She went inside, ate their porridge, broke their chairs and slept in their bed. Goldilocks was looking in the wood
