3/4 B

Week 5 Term 3

Inquiry

In our Discovery unit we have continued to look at different types of forces. We have participated in a number of different experiments to further explore these forces and how they work. We have looked into friction, applied forces, magnetic forces, air resistance, static electricity, elasticity and push and pull.

AFL Footy Clinic

Last week's footy clinic with Max was a lot of fun. We learnt some skills and did it with a big smile on our face and lots of laughter!

Whole School Assembly Presentation

Last Wednesday 3/4B made a presentation at the whole school assembly about our excursion to TwistED Science. Leading up to the assembly each student completed a recount based on their own excursion experience and then prepared a specific piece of writing to share with the whole school. It was great to see each of the students get up and speak using the microphone. We also prepared a slideshow of photos for the whole school to see.

While at Twisted science I learnt that friction is a force that pushes something down, up and to the side. Friction can cause heat, give extra grip or slow something down - Kaley B

Bicentennial park was a great place to stop by because Nick & I got to play with a cool & impressive glider that Nick made at Twisted science that could also fly fast like super sonic! - William M

My favourite part about twisted science was the van de graaff generator when my hair was standing up - Austin K

My favourite part of going to Twisted Science was the Sound beam because it makes noise and we got to make music and dance - Aaron T

My favourite part of going to twisted science was when l got to play with the bubbles and when I made big bubbles they popped - Harry H

My favourite part of going to Twisted science was the rope course where we put belts on and followed our colour belt on the rope - Lana

I would go to twisted science again because of the cool and fun activities . The staff were kind, my friends were there too and there was a van de graaff generator. My hair went crazy. That's why I want to go again - Micah M

While I was at Twisted Science I learnt that there are many different FORCES like MAGNETIC, GRAVITY, PUSHING and PULLING - Mercy A

My favorite part of going to Twisted science was Engineer which was in the blue zone. This activity involved building a hut out of blue blocks and you got to be an engineer - James C

My favorite part of going to twisted science was the sound beam room, This room had a floor that when you stepped on it, it made sound that turned into music - Valentina P

While at Twisted Science I learnt that an illusion is an image, a room or even a thing in real life. At Twisted Science the illusion was a bedroom upside down, when you flip your phone upside down and take a photo it would look like you're on the roof - Mackenzie

I would like to go again because of the van de Graf generator ( static electricity) and I learnt about forces - Azariya T

I would like to go again because it was really fun learning all about the different forces and exploring the blue and green zone - Seha W

Bicentennial park was a great place to stop by because…It was a nice sunny day to eat lunch outside with our friends. The slide was fun even though it zapped you a lot but it was fun and big. There was a small zone and a big zone but everyone went to the big zone because it was huge - Andrea A

Bicentennial park was a great place to stop by because there were a lot of monkey bars and flying foxes that l played on with my friends - Joanah S

My favorite part about going to Twisted Science was the lizard enclosure

because you got to look at the bugs up close in the microscope - Holly O-H

When 3/4B went to Twisted science my favorite part of going was when you had to construct a rocket and propel it to any one of the bullseye targets on the wall - Egidio L

Bicentennial Park was a great place to stop by because the slide was huge and you went down fast! - Ziggy S

While at Twisted Science I learnt that there are a few forces that can make a paper aeroplane fly futher - Liam L

While at Twisted Science I learnt how gravity works. The balls popped up in the air and gravity pushed the balls back down - Piper B

Coming up...

  • Science Week (week 6)
  • Book Week (week 10)

Enjoy your weekend,

Regards, Brendan.
