Debating Triumphs and Showdowns!

It's been a great couple of weeks for our Year 10 debating teams! The school community rallied around them with unwavering support during a lunchtime practice debate as they geared up for their first semi-final showdown on Thursday 24 August. This provided an invaluable opportunity for all to marvel at the intricate craft of structured debates. 

While one of our teams went down by a narrow margin, the team comprised of Scarlett R, Indi K, and Lucy K outclassed the opposition to get through to the second playoffs, with Scarlett R emerging as the shining star by clinching the title of Best Speaker.

Last night Scarlett, Indi and Lucy brought the house down again with their remarkable performance in the second playoffs against Trinity Grammar. The trio left an indelible mark with their overwhelming dominance, absolutely crushing the opposition's arguments. Kudos to Indi who was awarded the title of Best Speaker!

We wish the girls well as they look ahead to their next contest on the 7 September at St Leonard's.
