School Athletics Carnival

The School Athletics Carnival is on this Wednesday 9 August commencing at 9:20am at Jubilee Oval. Children will arrive at school as normal so that rolls can be marked and they will walk to the oval with their teachers.

Reminder: There will be no discus this year at the carnival due to safety concerns from a diocesan level as safety nets are now a legal requirement. The discus event for the school carnival has been swapped for foam javelin (vortex) with all age groups competing in this event on the day.

The PTF will be running a canteen on the day so please send in some cash with your child if you would like them to purchase. As stated in the note that went home last week, the PTF will be supplying fruit for all students for recess. The sausage sizzle lunch orders were placed last week, however if your child didn't wish to order please ensure that they come to the carnival with their own packed lunch.

Many thanks to the parents/carers who have volunteered for a job. Whether it be timekeeping, event helper, canteen helper or donating a slice, you time is greatly appreciated. Please make contact with Mrs Goddard on arrival at the carnival so that she can communicate what job you have been allocated.

At the carnival presentation we will aim to give those students who qualify for the Diocesan Carnival the event note stating events that they have qualified for. These notes will need to be returned on Thursday so that nominations can be finalised. Please note that a Compass Event will be created for parents to give permission for their child to attend.

2023 Gunnedah Primary School Touch Gala Day

Nomination

This carnival is targeted to students in Years 3 - 6 for both male and females.

Thank you to the parents who have contacted me regarding their child's interest in participating in the Gunnedah Primary School Touch Gala Day to be held in Gunnedah at Donnelly Fields on Tuesday 29 August. From the interest received we are able to go ahead and nominate as a school. If your child was interested and you have not yet emailed me or contacted the school, please do so urgently as the team will be nominated next Monday.

A reminder that parents will need to transport their child/ren to Gunnedah for the Gala Day.

A Compass Event will be created for parents to give permission for their child to attend which will have details of the day.
