2023 Students as Authors Writing Competition

Congratulations to Elsie Groves (Yr 2) and Frank Plevey (Yr 1) who received Highly Commended in the K-2 section of students as authors competition. This was a Diocesan wide competition and it was fantastic to have two students from Sacred Heart receive this commendation.

Yr 4 Assembly Item ~ Last week at assembly Year 4 shared what they were doing in their health lessons. This term in Health they are learning all about the importance of making good food choices. They shared the healthy food pyramid and explained the importance of the 5 food groups: grain foods, vegetables, fruit, dairy and lean meats. Jacob shared a joke about vegies: What do you call a dinosaur that eats his vegies? A broccoli saurus.

Armidale Diocesan Debating

The Year 5/6 debating Team A participated in their second round of debating last week against St Nicholas School, Tamworth. The topic for the week was 'That we should not sell bottled water.' It was a tuff competition but our team came away with a win!
