Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last week was a very successful week for Sacred Heart School, with three students receiving Diocesan recognition for their outstanding efforts in writing. Congratulations to Frank Plevey and Elsie Groves for receiving a Highly Commended in the K-2 section of the Students As Authors competition. Also, congratulations to Lucy Furner who has received Diocesan recognition for her outstanding NAPLAN results, particularly in writing. Congratulations to these students on their achievements!

For all Catholic students in Year 2 and 3, preparation for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist will continue this week. First Reconciliation will take place on Tuesday 15 August at 12md followed by the Assumption Mass (Holy Day of Obligation). First Eucharist (for Year 3 Catholic students) will take place on Saturday 19 August at 4pm at Sacred Heart Parish church. Further dates and information can be found on the RE page of the newsletter

Parent Teacher interviews continue on Tuesday 8 August for K-2. A conference booking schedule has been sent through Compass for you to book your time. 

Personalised Plan meetings for Semester 2 will also take place at this time. If you are required to attend a Personalised Plan meeting for your child, please book a double timeslot. 

The SHS PTF will meet this Tuesday 8 August at 5:30pm. All are welcome with a Zoom link being sent out via Compass. The next School Advisory Council meeting will be held on Tuesday 15 August at 5:30pm.

I will be away this Wednesday 9 August - Friday 11 August at the Term 3 Principal's Meeting. Mrs Kathlene Fenton will be Acting Principal during this time. 

Transition for Kindergarten 2024 continues this term. If you know of anyone wishing to enrol their child for Kindergarten in 2024 and to participate in the transition program this year, please let me know. Program details and enrolment forms are available by contacting Ms Traynor in the Office.

If you know of anyone who is intending to enrol at Sacred Heart either in Kindergarten or any other year group for 2023/2024, please encourage them to contact me at school.
