Parent Event

Workshop for Year 7 to 12 families

Strengthening Resilient Young Minds

Educator Claire Eaton will draw on 30+ years working with teens as a teacher and deputy principal to share practical help to St George's parents about building resilience in young people.

The Strengthening Resilient Young Minds seminar - ideal for Year 7 to 12 parents - will be held at St George's Anglican Grammar School on Wednesday, 30 August, from 6pm–7pm.

The school will open a venue for students to do work while parents enjoy the session.

Claire’s presentation will be most beneficial for parents interested in hearing about prevention-focused ways to help a child make the most of their resilient young mind at school, at sport, in friendships and in life.

Parents can learn about supporting teens to bring awareness to and change the direction of teen thought patterns. Also how to handle and navigate failure, disappointment and setbacks. The session will focus on improving communication with teenagers, and understanding brain change and milestone developments that impact teens' thinking, behaviour and choices.

Clare has been running a private-practice coaching business for tweens, teens and parents since 2007, and has been presenting wellbeing workshops since 2008.

We thank Claire for offering our parents this opportunity.
