Consent2Go - New Online Personal Health and Excursion Management System
This year, Kilvington has adopted a new online personal health and excursion management system called Consent2Go.
Consent2Go allows parents/guardian’s to provide the School with their child’s up to date personal health and permission (consents) information in an accurate, timely and confidential manner as well as a quick and easy way for parents to grant excursion, event and camp permissions.
Two separate emails have already been sent to all parents/guardians of current students with the Consent2Go link to update their child’s Personal Health Profile and Permissions (Consents) for the 2020 School year (this email will be sent from Kilvington Grammar School – [MCBSchools] admin@mcbschools.com). Please contact the School if you have not received an email.
If your child is involved in an excursion, camp or activity, you will be sent an invitation via email which will appear in your inbox from Kilvington Grammar School – [MCBSchools] admin@mcbschools.com.
This email will contain all the relevant information about the excursion, camp or activity and who you should contact should you have any questions. We ask that you respond to these electronic invitations as soon as possible.
Should your child remain in the temporary care of a relative or family member, it is important to let the School know in order for notifications to be sent to the correct person.
Should you have any problems in relation to Consent2Go, please contact our IT Department on (03) 9578 6231.

Staying in Touch with Kilvington
There are many ways of staying on top of news and events at Kilvington.
KCEE is our Learning Management system where you can access and update information relating to your child including academic results, calendar, events, activities, parent contact details in your child’s class or year level and news.
You will have received access details including log-in details prior to commencing the new year.
If you haven’t, please contact our IT Department on 9578 6231.
Consent2Go enables you to provide permission for your child to attend events and be photographed or filmed for Kilvington’s various platforms; update personal details; and, complete and update medical information.
Our Facebook Page is another way of staying in touch with events, activities, and news. Go to our website to ‘like’ our FB page. We are also on Instagram – search kilvingtongrammarschool.
And, of course, you will receive the School newsletter – In the Know – every fortnight. You will also receive School magazine, KNews, mid-year, and the Kilvonian (yearbook) at the end of the year.
A Reminder - Parking Around the School
Please be respectful of our local and School community when parking at and around the School. This includes not parking in School driveways, across residents’ driveways, on nature strips and in No Standing and restricted areas.
In particular, please be mindful of parents waiting to drop off their children in the various zones around the School. If you could please drop your children off as quickly as possible, regardless of the time allowed, it will help reduce the level of congestion around the School and frustration experienced by waiting parents.
For parents of senior school students, please consider parking or dropping them off from nearby streets to walk the short distance to School. Parents who are using the 25 minute parking areas to escort their children into primary school, please vacate the area once your child is safely dropped off.
Media Coverage - 2019 VCE and NAPLAN Results
Late last year, we were featured in The Age and the Herald Sun for our outstanding VCE and NAPLAN results. Well done Kilvington!
Special Report: Moving to a New School
Moving to a new school is a big deal! Your child is going to meet lots of new people and be thrown into new situations. That’s bound to make them feel lots of different emotions. They may feel worried and anxious, but also excited and happy – all at the same time!
It is considered to be one of the most important transition periods of a student’s life and can present some significant psychological challenges for both students and parents.
Making new friends, learning new routines, discovering new environments, accepting new cultures and adjusting to new learning practices is all part of the process. Some children will sail through this period of change, whilst others may need a bit more guidance.
It is important to give your child the chance to feel comfortable in their new space. This may take a few months, but ensure you keep the lines of communication open and check in regularly with your child to see how they are settling in.
In this Special Report, parents and care givers will be presented with a number of strategies that can be deployed to help ensure a smooth transition. We hope you take time to reflect on the information offered in this Special Report, and as always, we welcome your feedback.
If you do have any concerns about the wellbeing of your child, please contact the School for further information or seek medical or professional help.
Here is the link to your special report.
Cybersafety
Cybersafety is a key concern for parents. We were fortunate to have Susan McLean, cybersafety expert, speak to parents towards the end of last term.
Here is some practical advice from her, to help you navigate the online space.
The Kilvington Kelpies Running Club
Running is a great way to get fit and can play an important part in overall health and wellbeing.
The ‘Kilvington Kelpies Running Club’ has started up again from February 4. This club is open to all students from Years 3 to 12 and to interested staff.
It is aimed at recreational runners/joggers. We usually have between 40 to 50 students and four to five staff each week. We meet at the breezeway (near the Library) at 7.25am every Tuesday, rain or shine.
We hope to see you there!
