A New Start to the ELC Year
Lyn Pewtress, ELC Coordinator
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our 2020 Early Learning Centre families. We
are excited about the forthcoming year, and feel privileged to begin your child’s educational journey at Kilvington.
Our Early Learning Centre is a vibrant and exciting new place for our youngest students. It was wonderful to meet the many families who joined us for the Orientation Days. I thank the ELC educators for their dedication, and for enabling a seamless beginning to the year.
I also welcome our newest staff member, Tamara Bryan (Marine teacher) to the team.
The groups have all settled in well. Our first week back saw many of the children excitedly catching up with old friends, while for others it was an opportunity to make new ones.
To begin the year, the children spent their days exploring their indoor/outdoor environments and participating in a range of educational experiences. I suspect new projects are in the making with great interest expressed in our new playground development!
We look forward to working in partnership with our families and children, and strengthening the important links between home and the early childhood environment. This supports a smooth beginning to the more formal years of school.
While we welcomed all of our new and returning ELC children this year, the educators have also observed past 2019 ELC students as they venture into school life. We wish each and every one of them a wonderful start to the school year.
We anticipate a wonderful year ahead as the children familiarise themselves with each other and share many exciting discoveries. We have all enjoyed our initial few weeks together.
