Harmony Week

This week, we acknowledge our wonderful cultural diversity by celebrating Harmony Week.

Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

Harmony Day is held every year on 21 March. The Day coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The theme for Harmony Day is 'We Belong' and Year 5/6 used this as their theme for their Year level Mass. St Raphael students belong in many different ways.

Today we celebrated our Italian connection by sharing  a pasta lunch. Children, teachers and parents sat in our 'pop up' hall restaurant and ate a delicious lunch of pasta with passata made by the Year 5/6 students last week. We even had garlic bread!!

Teachers, parents and Father Simon served the hungry customers and we shared conversation and drew pictures about "What Harmony Day means to me."

It was a lovely way to celebrate being a St Raphaelian and would like to thank Catherine Talarico and her band of hard working parents for their organisation and hard work in putting this together.
