Currently our Year 7 Steiner Students are away on their Bike Riding Camp. All up, they will cycle between 200 and 300km over the course of the week. The camp should give them ample opportunity to challenge and build upon their fitness, to enjoy each other’s company and a  beautiful part of our local country side.

YEAR 10 OPERA EXCURSION

Students in this semester's Year 10 Music elective have been studying the Opera, 'Turandot'. On Tuesday, 19 November, the class attended a live performance of this very famous opera.

SAN FRANCISCO WALDORF HIGH SCHOOL EURYTHMY TOUR - REQUEST FOR BILLETS

Dear Collingwood Community,

We are excited to announce San Francisco Waldorf High School's Eurythmy Troupe's performance at Collingwood College on 19th & 20th February, 2020. They toured Korea this year, and next year they are touring Australia (Sydney at Glenaeon and Melbourne at Collingwood College).

As we are expecting 28 students from Year 10-12, we would like our community to host them on the 18th (arrival from Sydney) and the 19th. They are well-mannered students with love for Eurythmy. If you can host a student (or two, or more!), please contact Rie at  rossy.rie.r@edumail.vic.gov.au

We sincerely ask for your support for this performance to become one of the most memorable events for Collingwood College.

Best regards,

Steiner College of Teachers

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT NEWS

Communal Birthday Celebrations

On Tuesday we celebrated all Semester 2 birthdays for our international students with a party during lunch time.  It was wonderful to bring the cohort together for social time and have fun as a group.  This gathering was also a nice opportunity to formally welcome new students to our school. The piñata was certainly a hit with lollies being scattered across the room on the fifth student attempt to hit it - well done Matthias!  The photo wall was also popular!

Additionally, School Captaincy roles for 2020 were highlighted and students were asked to consider peer/self nominations for early next year.

Homework Club - Wednesdays

International students are reminded that Homework Club is compulsory every Wednesday after school. During Homework Club, students have the opportunity to complete work and to be assisted by university students who come to tutor our students. Furthermore, students are reminded that they can organise through COMPASS one to one (1:1) language support and assistance with their EAL work.
