VET in schools

VET in schools
VET courses have commenced this week, and I hope that everyone has had a great start.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Below are some reminders of the following terms of VET enrolment.
- You only have permission to leave the school one period early to travel to your host school. Thus, if you begin VET in period 5, you can leave at the start of/or during period 4. If this does not give you sufficient time to get to your VET placement please notify the VET Coordinator to explain this. You MUST sign out with the Senior Years Student Support Officer (Ann Shaw) before leaving for VET. If your VET session is in the morning you also need to sign in on arrival back at Viewbank College.
- Students who are required to wear a uniform for their VET class can get changed into the uniform during period 4 for an afternoon VET class or upon returning to school if they have a morning VET class. Students are not to wear their VET uniform whilst in class at Viewbank College.
- If you cannot attend your VET class for any reason, including illness or other Viewbank College commitments then you must let your home school (Viewbank College) VET Coordinator know as soon as possible. It is the VET Coordinator at your home school that should let the host school know of your absence. The earlier this is done the better.
- Finally, if you have a problem regarding any aspect of your VET course you must notify your VET Coordinator immediately, not your Year Level or Wellbeing Leader. Your Year Level Leader will be informed of your progress in VET via the Viewbank College VET Coordinator.
