United Nations Poster Competition

One of our very own Year 7 students’ Casey Tring came second in a United Nations poster competition! Casey won one of 23 merit awards offered in the competition. In fact, she won second place out of 600,000 entries.

This year Casey has attended a function dinner with her parents, primary school art teacher and primary school principal. One prize that Casey received was an award of 500 US dollars, or 660 Australian dollars, and the merit award certificate.

Casey’s poster depicted the theme of ‘The Celebration of Peace’. It shows elements of multiculturalism as well as global community.  When asked what she is most proud of about her poster Casey replied, ‘’ I had to restart because I lost my first copy so I am proud of myself having been resilient.’’

Casey wasn’t sure if she had a chance of winning but still was very happy and excited. Casey has now attended a function dinner with the Lions Club. She was required to give a speech about her experience and what peace meant. She was very nervous but she was able to deliver the speech well. Well done Casey!!
