Danya Gessesse

During the first week of Term 3, I attended the sensational and prestigious UBS Finance Academy in Sydney. It was a week-long scholarship that offered exposure to the finance industry, complete with field visits to businesses that aimed to provide us with exclusive insight into the innovative world of finance. We had the most incredible and inspiring presentations by prominent people in the industry speaking about a range of things from how to be a memorable presenter, to what a career in this field of expertise would offer. Canapé functions and a case study that was to be presented to a panel by the end of the week (as well as several other things I could go on about) were also part of the agenda.

I learnt so much about myself, others, and the rewarding opportunities in financial services at the academy. I saw a glimpse of the big world we live in, and how much it has to offer us.

This was truly one of the most eye-opening and stimulating experiences of my life that left me with so much joy and drive. Thank you UBS – for such a transformative experience. As a friend of mine said back at the academy, “I came with interest and left with passion”.
