High Resolves Student Leadership Program

Year 8 students have completed the High Resolves Student Leadership program. In March each class completed the first component about what it means to be a global citizen. In the second component students focussed on Social Justice and the Global Community. The program was well received by our year 8 students who took part with much enthusiasm.

Year 8 Mid-Year Celebration & Information Evening -Tuesday 9 August

The Junior Sub-school team have been busy organising a Year 8 Mid-Year Celebration and Information Evening. This will be held on Tuesday 9 August starting at 5.30 and will run for about an hour. The program includes:

Information about the selection of Year 9 elective subjects for 2017
musical performances by the Year 8 students
a presentation by Year 8 students about what they have learnt from the High Resolves Student Leadership program.

We would love to see all Year 8 parents on the night. Come along and support our junior sub-school team and the year 8 students.

Curriculum Day -

12 August

A curriculum day is planned for Friday 12 August. This is a student free day. Teaching staff have been involved in completing preliminary work in preparation for this day. Staff will be involved in developing year 7 – 10 curriculum and resources in line with the new Victorian Curriculum, in preparation for next year. Teams of teachers will also be involved in developing curriculum and resources for VCE subjects in line with new study designs.

And finally.....

As you know, we value punctuality and see it as an important life lesson for our students. It is also a matter of respect that they arrive on time for school and all classes.

Thank you to the vast majority of parents who support us in this. Students should arrive at school no later than 8.45am.

The Principal Team is contacting families when a student is late 3 or more times. Any student who arrives late to school 5 times will be required to have an interview with their parents with the Principal, & to attend the two hour after school detention.

We wish all our students a successful and enjoyable Term 3.
