Junior School Report

Welcome back to Term 3. We hope our students are well rested and prepared for another busy term. The Junior Sub School has organised many events and programs for our students to participate in this term. All students should have received their reports by now which can be accessed on Compass through the School Website. If you haven’t, please contact the school. If you have any concerns about your child’s report, please contact the relevant coordinator to discuss.
Students from the Sub School are performing in the School Production “MULAN” which is held in August– Year 7 students will have the opportunity of a taster of the Performance in July.
Year 8 students have completed the last component of “High Resolves” and have learned important aspects about Leadership, Global Citizenship and Social Justice. They will present to parents the knowledge they have attained at a Parent Information Evening.
PARENT INFORMATION AND STUDENT PRESENTATION EVENING
9 August 5.30pm - 6.30pm
Year 8 students and parents are invited to attend an important information evening on Tuesday 9th August 5.30 – 6.30 pm.
This event is to inform parents about the subject selection process for Year 9 Subjects for a 2017. Students will also present and evaluation of High Resolves and their musical talent for parents.
We request your attendance. Students will be taking home a flyer explain the details.
“Digital Thumbrint” will be presented to students of Year 7 and 8 and also some VCAL students in August. The students will be involved in some workshops, teaching the advantages of a positive on line presence.
Through a series of fun activities these workshop bring to life the vital information students need to become discerning internet users. Concepts covered include information security, on line business models and terms and conditions.
All Year 7 students are attending the State Library over the term to participate in an Open Access Program. – Research Launchpad” to develop their skills in research. This is a very exciting opportunity for our students to be involved in. The program offers a fun and interesting way in which to present findings and they produce a video. This is at no cost to the student. Please ensure permission notes have been returned.
Year 7 Students are also attending the Western Treatment Plant as part of their Integrated Studies course. Cost is $22. Please ensure notes and payment are made to the office.
Year 8 students are attending “Scienc works” on 8th September. This will be a fun and exciting opportunity for some hands on learning. Cost is $ 16. Please have payments and permission notes returned as soon as possible.
Please ensure your child has warm uniform for these cold winter days. Ensure you have labelled your child’s clothing. The uniform shop is open Monday and Thursday 12.15- 1.30 pm.
If your child is absent, please submit a medical certificate upon return or contact the Sub School to inform us of the absence.
