New Staff at St Albans Secondary College

Tuyet Duong

After completing my double degree (Bachelor of Secondary Teaching/Science at Deakin University) I was offered a teaching job at Braemar College in Woodend, where I worked from 2008.

My teaching specialist areas are Mathematics and junior Science.

My hobbies are travelling, reading novels and looking after my three boys (two children and my husband).

I am looking forward to working with the students, staff and community of St Albans Secondary College.

Tracey D’Elton

I am very excited to be joining the St Albans community this year as one of the Assistant Principals and teacher of Mathematics.  Prior to this appointment I was at Lowther Hall and before that I had been at a number of Secondary Schools to Melbourne’s West.  I have been part of the Leadership Team in my previous three schools and have held a number of roles including Curriculum and Pedagogy Coordinator, Head of Mathematics and Year Level Team Leader.  I enjoy gardening and walking when I have time and have a daughter going into third year tertiary studies and a son who completed Year 12 in 2017.

John Coulson

Hi there, my name is John Coulson and it is a pleasure to be working at St Albans Secondary College as an Assistant Principal. Born and raised in Queensland, I have worked as a Teacher, Head of Department and Deputy Principal for many years. I have joined the St Albans Team from the Australian International School in Bangkok where I worked as Head of Teaching and Learning. You think Melbourne weather is tough, try Bangkok in the hot months!  I am passionate about public education and I look forward to working alongside all members of school community to ensure we continue to achieve the very best for all our amazing students. I am very excited to part of the St Albans Team!

Matthew Olthof joins St Albans Secondary as member of staff in 2018 after working at the college as a relief teacher through the tail end of 2017. Recently returning to secondary teaching after many years living abroad in Canada, he looks forward to spending more time in the classroom and joining the Middle Sub School as a Year Level Coordinator.

Ayse Unal

My name is Ayse Unal. I began working at St Albans Secondary College in 2017, replacing a teacher who was on leave. I previously taught English and VCE History at an Independent school and have been teaching since 1992. When I was given the opportunity to continue working at the college in 2018, I was thrilled to accept the position. The staff have been incredibly supportive and the students friendly and it is for these reasons and many more that I look forward to working at the college this year.

I look forward to getting more students at the college involved in cooking delicious meals and helping out in the school’s vegetable garden.

Andrea Holliday

Prior to teaching i was employed as a management consultant and a senior operations manager for a large bank.  I finally made the decision to become a teacher, given that it was what I had always wanted to do, and I have never looked back.  I have taught at a number of schools in Melbourne's West. I am excited to join the St Albans SC Community as a Commerce and Humanities teacher.

I love summer and the beach and was lucky in growing up on the Bellarine Peninsula as to be close to the coast. I enjoy playing Netball and watching AFL.

Tina Bui

This is my first year teaching at St Albans Secondary College. I have worked and lived in the Western suburbs for over 20 years now, so I understand how culturally and linguistically diverse the St Albans community is. With such a warm welcome and supportive environment from the SASC, I am extremely happy to have an opportunity to teach Vietnamese year 11 and 12 and Mathematics year 8 and 9 at St Albans. I am looking forwards to working together with the SASC to help and guide my students to achieve their learning goals.

Paris Ladas

I recently graduated from Deakin University, where I earned distinctions in both my Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) and Bachelor of Arts. I arrived at St Albans Secondary following positions teaching EAL and instructing Intensive English Language Programs at Forest Hill and Essendon Keilor colleges. I am multilingual and passionate about facilitating students in developing their English language skills and assisting them in reaching their full potential in everything they attempt. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy theatre and the arts, good food and coffee, and spending time with family and friends.

Kathleen Main

I have been living and teaching in London since I finished my teaching degree, so St Albans Secondary College is my first ever Australian school. I couldn't have chosen a better place to remind me of all the fantastic things I had missed. There's the beautiful school grounds, the sounds of wildlife, the calm and relaxed atmosphere, and the extreme friendliness of staff and students alike. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved my time in the UK, but now that I'm here I can easily say, it's great to be home.

Simon Marrow

Julie Talevski

Hello! I am very excited to join the office team at St Albans Secondary College team in my first school based job, having previously worked in a coordination and finance role at Victoria University for the past 6 years. I have found everyone here to be so friendly and welcoming, which has made it an easy transition to a new workplace. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family (my husband and my little munchkin dog, Alfred), travelling and eating chocolate or pizza!!

Judy Blum

I am returning to work in the office at St Albans Secondary College after a 10 year absence.  Since leaving the College I worked as the Office Manager at Staughton College in Melton South for 5 years before deciding to take a 2 year break from the Education Department to concentrate on the day to day running of our family run Video Store.  In 2015 I returned to schools working at Copperfield College, Sydenham Campus before jumping at the chance to return to St Albans to work in the office again.

I enjoy going Camping and 4WD whenever I get the chance. I have 3 adult children, a daughter who also works in a school office and 2 sons who are both Electricians.
