Monitoring and Management of Students on Contract Buses (DYSONS)

Next term we will be further developing a new system to monitor and manage students on the school buses.  This is a joint initiative of the Department Of Education Student Transport Unit, Dysons and Concord School.

All buses and supervisors will move to “Roll Call” This will become the primary check-on & check-off student passenger management system and replacing the existing paper lists.

The easiest way to understand how this will work is to go to the Roll Call website and view the YouTube clip. When viewing the website and video please be aware that for Concord School:

  • At this stage students will NOT need a card to touch on/touch off, this will be done by the supervisor.
  • Roll Call will only be used on the Dyson contract buses and not for our own excursions and school trips.

Route Changes

As our school roll increases, so do the number of students on the school buses, some buses now have over 40 students on any journey.

We have met with Dysons and to even out student numbers there will be some changes to the routes for the Epping, Reservoir and Lalor buses. This will mean likely time changes for many students and some students will change buses altogether.

We aim to have the changes in place for the beginning of Term 4 and will keep those affected families informed.

Discovery Centre Competition

New Name for Nao

If you haven’t met our resident robot yet, now is your chance!

Nao is moving to the MILE Room, so if you come visit from Week 3 onwards you’ll get to see Nao hold conversations, do dance routines, and even dab. For such an amazing machine we need an amazing new name, so if you have a good name idea submit your suggestion to Ashley at the Discovery Centre. The winner will be decided by the Student Representative Council at their next meeting.

Entries close Friday August 10th.
