Assistant Principal Report

Assistant Principal -

Mr. Mark Henderson

Wellbeing:

The Resilience Project GEM Program

All students in Year 7-10 will participate in the GEM project, a program facilitated by our teachers aimed at building gratitude, empathy, mindfulness and emotional literacy.

The first session will be Friday 1st March, and I look forward to sharing the experiences of our students in the next edition.

Pathways:

Parks and Gardens SBAT

16 students in Years 10-12 have formed the inaugural Parks and Gardens SBAT program at Westall. Students will undertake a Cert II in Parks and Gardens, whilst applying their learning in projects around the College and in the local community. Thanks to our partners Advanced Community College and ATEP for making this program possible. We wish the students all the best - another example of personalised learning at WSC.

The Westall Way:

Catching Students Getting It Right

Well done to staff and students for embracing the Westall Way learning behaviors and Reward System since it’s beginning at Head Start. Students are starting to build their points total to head towards the Bronze certificate.

iCreate Website

The college launched its new iCreate website, a collaborative space, where we will celebrate all the great work in the program. Go to www.icreatewestall.com to see the great work.

Thanks to Kevin Phan for his assistance in creating the site.
