In this newsletter, the Foundation teachers wanted to have their students share their ‘voice’ and what’s important to them at school this term. Enjoy the students’ thoughts, reflections and corresponding pictures.

Foundation A

Exploration

My bird's chirp is broken but the vet will fix it. ~ Emily U

In maths we’re learning how to do 1st, 2nd, 3rd. My favourite thing to do in maths is play Buzz. I also like making counting by 10s kites. ~ Poppy P

Exploration

In Exploration we get to see what people make. ~ Killian O

 

We explore different stuff like making crafts and Magna Tiles. ~ Laura B 
We made it and it was really easy to make. We made it out of Magna Tiles and stuff. We then made a Pokémon tower. ~ Eddie F We really just worked together. ~ Miia L
We were making a design for the SeaWorld. We made it out of cardboard boxes and tubes. So my sea animals could have a place to play. We then thought it might be too hard. ~ Luke M
I was making a person out of popsicle sticks and then I added a kite. I used it for my puppet show. ~ Ava R
We were flying to Disneyland. Sophie was the pilot. We were playing airport. ~ Robbie E. Me and Robbie are playing in the airport. We are flying to America. ~ Sophie H
I did a little ball and then when it stayed I added some leaves and sticks and then putted some eggs in it. Then I made some little birds. ~ Zoe R
I am sewing a person. I did it with thread and a needle. It was hard to not do knots. I liked that I was sewing. ~ Maddie U

Foundation C

Ice cream flavours & getting to school

In maths I was finding out which ice-cream somebody had as their favourite. And then somebody asked me how I got to school. ~ Evelina N

 

I was telling Evelina and Grace my favourite ice-cream flavour. We were trying to get people to tell us how they got to school or their favourite ice-cream. My one was ice-cream flavours. ~ Alexia N

A pet... or not?

We were telling everybody ‘do they have a pet or not?’ and then we had to cover their names if they had a pet or not. And the pets you could do was fish, dog and cat, or other. ~Maggie C

In PMP, you throw the ball to each other and then they have to try to catch it with their Velcro thing. ~ Olivia B

Playing in a band

We were playing in a band. We made up our own instruments and we made sure they worked properly. Mine was just a stick and I was tapping it on the ground. ~ Lewis M

So what I did, I was making a little DJ to bring home to my Mum. So I got a little circle thing and then I traced it to make that thing and then I made it coloured to colour the DJ. ~ Evie M

Foundation D 

You can tell it’s me by my socks. I’m on the monkey bars in PMP. That bit was hard but going down was easy. The obstacle course was so easy. ~ Freddie C
That was PMP and I was going across the logs. It was a obstacle course so there were a few choices how to do it and I choosed that. ~ Stella F-W
I’m playing tic tac toe and I ticked on ‘sat’ and I chose Freddie because he was sitting nicely on the floor and he was concentrating. ~ Liam M
I mailed a letter to Evie. I put it in the letter E for Evie. I used our post office in the classroom. ~ Lucy O

My board game is called ‘Listen To The Colours’. Here are the rules. If you land on:

  • BLACK you stay there until you roll a 6.
  • RED you’re out of the game for 20 seconds.
  • ORANGE you have to be a chicken for 5000 years. You can skip a few days.
  • BROWN you have to say 5 toilet words.
  • PURPLE stay there for 50 seconds.
  • BLUE get another counter to move on the board. Then you have 2 to move.
  • LIGHT GREEN AND LIGHT BLUE you lose the second counter.
  • DARK GREEN you can have as many more rolls as the number you rolled to get there.
  • GREY Tell a joke to the person you are playing with.
  • PINK Do the splits for 100 seconds.
