Writers' Festival Launch

What better way to bring the community back to Greenvale Primary School than with the spectacular opening of our Writers’ Festival!

It was amazing to see all the hard work and dedication that the students put into their ‘Big Top’ circus writing throughout Term 1.

We launched the Writers’ Festival on Monday morning with a full school assembly, welcoming our special guests Anita Calore and Mark Natoli, as well as authors Adam Wallace and Sarah Howell.

Both of our guest authors spoke to the students about their experiences as writers from childhood to publishing their first texts. Students also loved the juggling performance that Adam put on for them!

One student from every year level was also chosen to present their writing to the special guest after the assembly. Students read confidently and impressed our guests with their amazing writing.

The celebrations continued in the afternoon with families being welcomed into the main building which was transformed into our own version of a BIG TOP. Our corridors displayed over 700 pieces of the student spectacular writing! We ended the celebration with a delicious sausage sizzle.

It was fantastic to have excitement and noise of so many happy students and families engaging with one another and acknowledging all the wonderful work of our students! Thank-you to everyone that made the time to visit.
